Biography

Ms. Sand attended Alexandra Junior High School as a young girl, and is now pleased to return to Alexandra Middle School as a teacher. She completed her first degree at the University of Calgary, majoring in International Relations with a concentration on International Political Economy and Strategy and Security, and also holds a minor in psychology. Her second degree, a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, was completed through the collaborative program with the Medicine Hat College.

Ms. Sand loves spending time with her son, but also enjoys reading, writing, and watching movies. Although, with a 4 year old at home movie watching is a rarity! Ms. Sand’s favorite color is green, her favorite movies include, but are not limited to, Rocky (the first one), Gone with the Wind, and Rhinestone, and she loves eating baked goodies from Mrs. Johnson’s kitchen.

Ms. Sand is very excited to explore and develop her dramatic side with the Performer’s Club this year!
