Biography

Mark McClain was a graduate of Medicine Hat High School in 1992 and then attended Medicine Hat College for two years before transferring to the University Of Lethbridge to finish his Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts Degree. Mark convocated in 1997 and after two months of substitute teaching he began his teaching career in Irvine AB. There he taught Industrial Arts, Health and First Aid to grades 7,8 and 9. The following three years saw Mark in Red Deer at Westpark Middle School. There he taught CTS (woodworking, plastics, ceramics, metals, rocketry and other related courses) as well as Math 7, Social 7, Computers, and Outdoor Education. Then Mark moved back to Medicine Hat to become a member of the Alexandra Middle School staff.
Over the past seven years he has mainly taught Physical Education, Recreation Education, CTS Construction Technology as well as a variety of subjects that include Social 7, Outdoor Education, Computer Studies, Novel Studies, Information Processing and Math Teasers to grade 7 and 8.

Mark has coached a variety of sports including Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Track and Field, and the ski club.

Mark's other interests include playing hockey, woodworking, spending time with his wonderful wife Karla and two sons Ethan and Kohen, working out at the gym, golfing and fishing. One of his passions is flying as Mark has his Private Pilots License.
