Alexandra Sports

Alexandra develops well-rounded students therefore we focus on academics, citizenship and sports. Our students can participate in sports in three ways:

  • In our daily Phys. Ed. / Rec. Ed. classes.
  • Enjoying Intramurals and morning Open Gym.
  • Become a member of a school team.

Students who become involved in school teams (football, vollyball, badminton and basketball) may be required to pay a participation fee. This fee will help offset the increasing costs of tournaments. Fees will be identified at tryouts. Most Alexandra athletic events are scheduled for school day afternoons or weekends, with as little disruption to the student's academic schedule as possible. Parents are encouraged to attend our games. Our school teams are called the Jayhawks and the Lady Jayhawks. However, the combination Alexandra/MHHS co-ed football team is called "The Hawks."
