At Alexandra we follow Middle School Philosophy therefore whenever possible the core academic areas are block scheduled. This means that Mathematics and Science are taught by the same teacher to the same class. This allows the teacher to structure the learning activities to be integrated to reinforce the students' learning.
The Provincial minimum requirement for Mathematics and Science instruction is 200 hours (100 hours each over the course of one school year). At Alexandra, students will receive over 330 combined hours of instruction in these two subject areas.
