Olympic Banner Relay and Pep Rally

Our Pep Rally to support or Basketball teams who are hosting a tournament on the weekend, celebrate the Hawks, our football team placing second in Alberta in their division will include a celebration of Canada's involvement in the Winter Games. The Olympic torch will be in our city on the weekend and all school will be holding celebrations in their schools to support its arrival. As part of the celebration each school will have a banner that will form part of a relay amongst the schools ending up at the School District's Central Office.
The assembly will be held at the beginning of the school day, right after home room, followed by 6 shortened periods. You can anticipate the assembly taking about an hour from the students first entering the gym to their return to home room in anticipation to the move to period 1.
Students are asked to show their team spirit on the 14th by either wearing blue and gold (basketball), green and gold (football) or red and white (especially Olympic or Canadian themed clothing if they have some).
