Mrs. Darolyn Haney

1995-2001, 2008-2009

Mrs. Haney started working with students in the Medicine Hat area as a Program Director/Youth Worker with McMan Youth Services and then worked for McMan Community Outreach as a Family Careworker. In September 1989, Mrs. Haney joined Medicine Hat School District at Medicine Hat High School as a teacher in the Integrated Occupations Program. Mrs. Haney then started her career as a junior high counsellor at Alexandra Junior High School for 5 years. In September 2000 Mrs. Haney moved to Medicine Hat High School as a Special Education Teacher with the Vocational Preparation Program. Mrs. Haney then moved to Crescent Heights High School for the start of the 2005-2006 school year as a counsellor, where she remains today. In April of 2008 Mrs. Haney became the Project Facilitator for the Mental Health Capacity Building Project, which encompasses both Alexandra and CHHS.

During her teaching career, Mrs. Haney has been involved in the school district in the BOATS program, worked with the framework for Student Record Regulation development, Safe and Caring School training, along with many others. Mrs. Haney has also been a member of the Alberta Guidance Council, Alberta Education field testing team and has taken training in Suicide Prevention training, along with other relevant training courses.

Mrs. Haney received her Bachelor of Education (with Distinction) in 1983 from the University of Alberta.
